We need to, earth will die anyway, if you want or not you can care about earth like you want and as long as life is here on earth its also preety important, but it won´t be here forever and if Life wants to survive, all depends on mankind exploring into space and not tomorrow that could be to later we need to care today! Or we just say: "I do not go out, Im not leaving home and about the generations will come I do not care" and we will die all here, the species can not go out there, too.
