What I've realized is that dey Europeans or European descendants don't do this kind of things like slit eyes (Asian stereotypes) in Japan or Korea which is same race with Chimaman but to China. Maybe we are admired and praised for our football skills, wealth (which Brazil never got) etc :D

Coming from Brazil and living in Italy where I presume there isn't much tension between Asians and national citizens, he probably thought it was just affectionate. I mean it's derogatory implication is largely a social construct anyway.
