GUYS in 1.1 and after the redstone will open and close the gates (this is NOT a bug!). All you have to do is keep the redstone away from the gates, and only touching the pistons

It's a very well elevator , very good!

also, you can easily make this up and down without having to get out by having 2 pistons pushing to the side so both fence gates will move vertical of each other

You can also use this open trapdoors as long as it is consistently beside a wall.
