A recently discovered "global warming island" on east coast of Greenland. As featured in the New York Times on Tuesday, January 17th, the island was discovered by explorer Dennis Schmitt in September, 2005. A small expedition returned in September 2006 to document and explore it. As the Greenland Ice sheet melts, new islands continue to appear. Directed, Edited, and Photographed by Eric Ristau
