  • Hi, I'll be traveling the same route as you, may i know where can i get the ticket online?? do u had the website??

  • I did not purchase the ticket on the internet, so I cannot tell you which site to use. For me personally, it was more authentic holiday experience to line up in a queue with other Chinese people.

  • Can one purchase tickets on-line?

  • Yes, there are websites where you can purchase train tickets for journeys in China.

  • Are the lines at Chengdu train station always this long ?

  • Not sure really. The train station's at Xi'an and Shanghai had similar queue lengths. On the other hand, at Beijing train station the queue's were relatively short .

  • @kaizerzydeco There is no chaos, you just wait in line and ask and pay for a ticket. Perhaps more people than most countires, but no chaos. In fact, rail way stations in China are much more organized and runs on time than say, Sweden, where I come from...

  • @kaizerzydeco : If you want to avoid the 'chaos'(!) in China, give a wide berth to China and stay back in your country, where there is no 'chaos'! Keep in mind that while visiting China and you have to put up with whatever is there in that country.

  • Oh - that's a relief. We're planning a holiday in China in the near future and whilst I like to mingle with the locals, if I can avoid the chaos of a Chinese railway station I will. I'm sure most of them would say the same thing!

  • No problem, happy to oblige.
