Ah that's too bad, I like this version, somehow oshogatsu seems to fit better with the tanuki goten. :D
I love this clip, these days I go around singing "Da da da doo, doo da dee doo do!"

And yet another weird Japanese combination of traditional and and westernized elements, in one appealing mixture.
I have Hibari's record of this song, and it differs in that she ends by singing "kurisumasu" instead of "oshogatsu".
