Neftali Feliz, the Texas Rangers top RHP prospect, faced the San Diego Padres on March 18, 2009. I shot this 210 frames per second video at the game. I still have no idea where the velocity comes from...

nolan ryan did have shoulder trouble in his career? he did but fixed it rather quickly thats why you never heard of him having any.

do you have any legitimate evidence to substantiate this claim? How do you define "drop and whip" vs. "out and up?" How does one example in nolan ryan prove your point?

You bet I can critique mechanics. There are healthy ways to throw, and there are destructive ways to throw. Contrast Perez and Aroldis Chapman, and most modern deliveries with Nolan Ryan and you will see the ill-advised 'drop and whip' versus the healthier 'out and up' which allowed Ryan to throw HEAT in the bigs for 27 years without shoulder issues. Dropping that hand low, then whipping through your delivery comes with a big cost. Notice Chapman's velocity dropping like a rock, too?

critiquiing a guy who throws 101 mph...clearly he has one of the most efficient motions on the planet to throw that hard at his size. Name one pitcher who hasn't had shoulder stiffness at one point in his career and throws anywhere near that hard.

He's all arm. The 'drop and whip' style is most deleterious to the arm. Very prevalent in the bigs, and this is the main reason why pitchers drop in velocity and end up on the DL and out of baseball. Today he goes out with 'shoulder stiffness'. Solution: Go 'out and up' instead, never drop your arm, and you can pitch forever.

Nice videos dude. Feliz' delivery is so smooth and effortless. It's amazing how he consistently hits 100.
