The list of most powerful black women includes:
Oprah Winfrey
Condoleeza Rice
Cathy Hughes of BET
Wendy Williams from WBLS

There are many others on the list, which can be found in Ebony and Essence Magazine, as well as BET (Black Entertainment Television). Other notables might include Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of black star Will Smith, Alicia Keys, Tina Turner, Queen Latifah, and more. The black celebs power list would include Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Laurence Fishburn, Cuba Gooding Jr., Halle Berry, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry (House of Payne, which isn't a very good show by the way).

In all their forms, these actors remind us of the importance of black love, african american achievement, and black success. The notion that they can take the place of black leaders such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Cornel West, Dr. Boyce Watkins, Michael Eric Dyson or Marc Lamont Hill is remote. However, black hollywood has always been a place to look for the leading figures in the African American communuity. At least it's better than the hip hop and bootie shaking they show on BET!
