I haven't watched a baseball game in about 10 years. baeball is a disgrace. You have a bunch of steroid cheaters in the record books, but Pete Rose is the bad guy????

The day baseball named one of the owners as the Commissioner was the day it all started going downhill. You don't let the fox guard the chicken coup.

The owners knew about the steroids years before it came out but they were making so much money they kept it quiet. Shame on all of them for disrespecting the game.

@kisscactus Sorry, don't see your point. I understand that betting on baseball is against the rules. But why do you feel that the penalty has to be banishment from the hall of fame?

How about instead, we fine Pete for the CRIME he did, and let him in the hall for the RECORD he broke.

@kisscactus Pete never bet on baseball as a player, only as a manager. And he only bet for the Reds so he never told his players to throw the game. Betting was harmless in this case. They went blindly by the precedent of the '19 WS when the CWS players DID throw the game, but this case was totally different. Was it wrong, yes, but it was also harmless and did NOT compromise integrity. Also, Gaylord Perry threw spitballs and played in the 60s and 70s, 50 years after its ban, and is in the HOF.
