A longer look at d20pro's features. d20pro is a virtual tabletop software for playing d20-based tabletop Roleplaying Games (like Dungeons & Dragons). You can play with others remotely or use it to replace your minis and battle maps. I'm a designer, media developer, and support specialist for d20pro.

  • Yeah, kind of curious if it works for Pathfinder.

  • @AG3NTN0N3 Very well actually. We have a Pathfinder page on our wiki: help.mindgene.com/advanced/other-rulesets/pathfinder

  • Pretty much any game that has units on a map. It just depends on how much you want it to automate. At the most basic, you can track AC, hit points, and so on. If you are playing 1st edition, you won't put in attacks (d20pro doesn't do THACO) but you have a dice tool and can manually hurt/heal units.

  • @drivera30415 You can convert 1st and 2nd to d20. There isn't much difference between 2nd and 3rd mechanically. It's mostly in looks and more specials or spells/level and getting rid of AC caps.

    20-THAC0=Base Attack Bonus. So THAC0 20 = +0 BAB (20-20=0) or THAC0 12 = +8 BAB (20-12=8).

On the AC side. AC 10 is the base in all editions, but since AC is reversed in 2nd, you will add every point subtracted from AC to get a d20 system AC. AC 10=AC 10. AC 8 = AC 12 in d20. AC -10 = AC 30.

  • @Taricus Yep, I know THACO very well. Been playing since the Red Box. We even have instructions on the forums for converting your 2E into d20 based. I'm not a developer, but from talks with them, it's not worth the coding time when there are other things we are focusing on - like the new marketplace.

  • Yep. It's Java based, so it runs on Linux, PC, or Mac

  • @Taricus Just gotta remember it takes 10 AC points to go from AC 10 to AC 0, and another 10 to go from AC 0 to AC -10... so 2nd ed AC -10 is AC 10+10+10=30 in d20....

*shakes head* ok /math off.... my brain hurts now... ROFL!

  • How annoying is this to get people to connect via IP address? Last software I used was nothing but trouble with peoples firewalls, errors in connections, not seeing the game open, etc etc

  • Will it work with other games, and older editions of Ad and D. like 1st or 2nd ed..?
