I don't really see the danger of this manouvre. You got the space and got the sight as far as I can see. And like a Dutch truck/bus website owner would like to say; Some years ago DAF named theirselves with "The Power of an organisation". You proved the power of a great DAF Type in this video!

By the way they really should change the speed limit cuz cars can do 50 or 60 mph on those roads or even harder the most are speeding so thats 10 or 20 mph faster so conclusion MORE BREAKING,TAKING OVER WITH DANGEROUS MANOUVRES AND DEFINITLY MORE QUEUEING!!! yeah i know.. the rules...but then again RULES ARE MADE 2 BE BROKEN!!!

Yeah u guys are all right bout that but its a hurry thang 2 catch the ferry and 40mph/65kmh wasn't the speed i need 2 do the job!!! KNOW ITS DANGEROUS BUT I HAD A GOOD SIGHT AND I WAS EMPTY!!

The only question i'd ask myself is. if you saw something coming, midmanouvre, would you have kept going or jammed the brakes on to cancel the manouvre.. I find i sometimes stick to the manouvre, whilst i should have backed off. This usually is in a car on my way back from or to work, where i drive a DAF CF garbagetruck through "nicely" parked cars. But think about it, would you have backed down or kept on trying? hehe.. and the 2 second rule for cars, is 4 for trucks m8.

True that as well!! Your question totally depends on the situation at that moment, i mean what is the position of myself and the overtaken vehicle, what vehicle is coming towards me, a tractor or a car, so slow or fast,but yeah in that split second and with a lorry like this one i would have backed down!
