This game supposedly has a much nicer color palette than the other version on other consoles.
It's a pretty fun game if you liked Out of this World. I did and I am going to take the time to get further into Flashback: The Quest for Identity.
I will put more video of it up when I get further along.

  • This is literally the same thing as the GENESIS game.

  • From what others are saying (and I agree with them,) there are differences, namely, animation, color & sound.

  • Man, I am jealous! This is my most favorite game on the Sega Genesis, but it looks and sounds better on the Jaguar! Conrad even walks cooler! AND THE ROBOTS MAKE AWESOME NOISES WHEN YOU SHOOT THEM! Luckily I am already a Jaguar owner...because I am looking for this version on ebay!!

  • If you're ok with just the plain cart, there's a 3-game lot on ebay right now that has flashback, checkered flag and pinball fantasies. Starting bid is $9.99 and has 3 days.

  • @dogeymon83 In genesis he had a white T-shirt ;)

  • The problem I had with this Game is that it was SOO DAMN QUIET. I Had everything Hooked to a Cinema System even Back then & I had to turn the whole thing up so all I could hear was Hiss all the time. Even with the Scart adapter! Where as Tempest 2000 & Defender 2000 you could Turn them up, Skin up a Spliff & play them all night! AVP was shit scarey! Especially after I constructed a Soundtrack for it, & used a Mixer to Blend the Sound FX & Mini-disc player! Great Times!

  • this dosn't look any better than the version on the amiga which had a 4,096 color palette

the jaguar has a 16,777,216 color palette

  • looks like snes version as well

  • @viMasterJag i have flashback on both systems and the differences are very very minor.

  • great game , I have it for my CD-i

  • Finally a fairly decent game for the Jag!

  • @mjdoomreviews Some versions have shorter versions of some (if not, all) scenes, some have BGM with slightly different instruments.

  • Same sounds as the genesis, that's good I felt that it always had the best sounds. The game looks quite nice, more colors.

  • The 3DO version might be superior, but it's also a CD game. This was the "CD-ROM game on a cartridge," so adding CG cutscenes in place of polygonal ones was sacrilegious to the whole idea of the game. Plus additional loading times for things like picking up an item. Sega CD suffers from the same CG crap, but has the best audio, by far, with fully voiced characters and a constantly running CD soundtrack.

Nonetheless, for the "CD-ROM game on a cartridge" reasoning alone, Jaguar can't be beat.
