The Berlin Wall - to the rest of the world - is the symbol of the division of Europe. Its not what ended communism. Its not what started the collapse of communism. It is purely the symbol of a divided Europe!

  • Born in 1979. Lived 10 years behind the Iron Curtain, behind the Wall. Was 10 when the democratical change came. I still remember, that everyone was so excited in 1989.

And now maybe the life is not the easiest in my homeland, Hungary. But I guess, we have a lot of opportunities, we just have to know the way to take them instead of complaining about everything. That' s all.

This video is touching me, makes me remember my childhood, makes me cry, makes me happy.

Just think positive. It helps :)

  • someone forgot where it all started ?

  • I am american and I am also a History major at my university and after studying many years on the changes that have gone on in Europe and especially Central Europe...I...I just feel so goddamn happy that this happened. I actually cried when watching this because it was so powerful and showed a great message...You are missing the Polish Solidarity which was a large part of it all though. Either way, amazing video and I hope to see these sites but not as an american but as a moved human being.

  • fantastic! we saw that in my PR class today..... i'm speechless ... 20yrs for 2 min!!!

  • Csak 20 év volt? Ő nem fogja hagyni!

  • I am also a Hungarian, and i was born in 1993,four years after the system change(so im now 17).Because all those little changes were happened very slowly year by year, day by day so we dont even recognised the small changes because there wasnt high-contrast,so we get to used to those new things.I can claim there is HUGE difference.Im using laptop, ipod, dig.camera, xbox etc.I have been in 13 countries,my family has 2 cars (relativly new).. without system change my life would be totally different...

  • I think there will be another cycle with a massive pressure point of change, in social values and economic values within the next few months/2 years. And we will have even more liberty and freedom then we do now. Every new generation is more individualistic then the proceeding generation. we are naturally evolving into lighter and lighter forms of control/government. I bet in 20 years I will see a video "20th anniversary of freedom from global Corporatism and the elite class"

  • Very nice video,it was very touchy, makes me proud of being Romanian and European.

  • @ktabanyi

life in the Iron Curtain was very hard, here in Romania you could stay 24 hours for only 1 bread ,and yeah, positive thinking helps much

  • To think some bastards whant to take the freedom that thousands of people dieds to give us.

  • @Woloh

could You explain when Poland lose?and we fought with Ukraine?there was no such thing, I think You should learn some history, besides polish-'ukrainian' fights it is really complicated matter and You have to be a really good historian of that period and that lands to understand that
