My reef;
10 weeks old, no protein skimmer but running 3 canister ilters with activated carbon, phosphate remover and nitrates remover. All filter media is changed every week. Water is crystal clear.
Live rocks about 60%, crush coral layer, 90 gallons tank, 160 watt fluorescent, two actinic blue 12.000 k and two day light 10.000 k., water 78-80k.
Corals, anemones, crabs, sea urchin, mexican snails, zebra turbo snails, britleworms, clown fis, damseys, cleaner.
The rocks are in the midle and not touching the glass facilitating water movement.
Still a lot of work to do; projects; to build in tank two small algae trappers/refugies. To buy a good protein skimmer, maybe a Ramora.

  • How much did the lighting cost?

  • True! Will help define corals and rockwork!

  • Nice tank. Would be greatly improved by replacing your background with a solid black or blue.
