Over 3500 individual infrared images from the GOES East weather satellite, collected between October 28,2011 to January 1, 2012 and made into a movie.

Notice the increase in the number of frames (i.e. the slowdown in the time rate) as the satellite takes more frequent images to carefully monitor Tropical Storm Sean.

  • @jeremyll33 Most of the "clouds flying" are low pressure systems with their associated fronts, but it does seem like you can see jet stream features throughout most of the video.

  • lmao the music is so appropriate

  • Call me Mr Naive on the climate thing but is that amazing stream of cloud flying across the image the Jet Stream?

  • Incredible! Thanks!
