Well there were 12 Victoria Crosses(highest honour) awarded to People from Ireland....11 of them went to the south and 1 to the north....the best part is the nordie was a Catholic Nationalist. @scotsloyal we were accidently bombed by the nazis,yes we did support james 2 but we were still independent until the act of union 1801,it was the ulster plantations which started british control in ireland and it gradually spread southwards.i would also like to remind u this fact,in 1914 during ww1 the unionists imported guns into larne(co.antrim) from germany-thats collusion if not treason and we helped with ye by sending fire trucks to belfast after it was bombed,they were cheered in shankill

@scotsloyal as i said i hardly think the nazis were shitting themselves over whether a thousand republicans(MAX) with a few 100 rifles and the odd machine gun,were going to join them.they couldnt take belfast not to mind ally themselves with europes best ever war machine and that shit about leaving lifghts on for the luftwaffe is bullshit as the nazis only bombed a few times by night and our country was neutral.we were hardly going to put our necks on the line for a country which occupied us.
