"The West Wing" TV show presents us with a nice fantasy: What would it be like if America elected an intelligent, enlightened president. Here we see a fictional response to Dr. Jacob, a thinly veiled stand-in for "Dr. Laura," the pompous, self-righteous, religious pinhead, talk-show host.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. Wouldn't it be nice if we lived in a world in which our intelligent leaders actually responded to such lunacy like this?

Since she is using the Old Testament to explain why to her homosexuality is a sin, he is fully justified in using it to refute her arguments. Especially since many of his quotes come from the same book of the Bible she was using.

And I'm going to call you stupid because of your glaring inconsistency in holding one character to a standard to which the other - the one who agrees with you, natch - isn't beholden. And I'm going to call you stupid because the average Christian can barely read, let alone dazzle a crowd with a brilliant exegesis.
