Mayor Mike Bloomberg unveiled GreeNYC - the consumer outreach portion of PlaNYC - at a press conference on June 25, 2007 at City Hall. This GreeNYC ad is one of three that will play on local TV stations starting this week, spreading the word about the 10 easy steps everyone can take to reduce energy usage and pollution. The 10 stops are: 1)Change your light bulbs to CFLs, 2) Buy ENERGY STAR appliances, 3) Don't air condition an empty room, 4) Unplug chargers and appliances when not in use, 5) Switch to green power through your energy provider, 6) Walk or take public transportation, 7) Recycle your glass, metal, paper and plastic, 8) Bring your own cloth bag to the grocery store, 9) Use green cleaning products, and 10) Switch to paperless bank statements and online bill paying.

what the hell? Who is gonna bring a cloth bag to the grocery store?? thats STUPID! This is paid for by the grocery stores who want to save money by not providing us with bags anymore! lol
and STFU about vote democrat you damn tree hugger, don't EVER vote on a candidate because of what party they're in vote because they're truthful and hardworking!
No, most of the grocery stores want to keep using plastic bags.
I take cloth bags to the grocery store all the time. Plastic bags get out into the environment and never decay -- pieces of them get eaten by birds, fish etc. and kill them.
There is a Texas-sized whirlpool of these bags and other plastic garbage in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We'd better start doing something to reduce it.
The bird is cute. However why are they broadcasting this in Los Angeles? Not only does it give the impression of incompetence, like they don't know where they're spending the money, I also feel kinda mocked when I hear "take public transportation" in a city where it is virtually non existent and the buses are a great way to get mugged
