Mississippi & Tennessee Flooding - Wicked Weather Across South - kill 7 in Tennessee, 4 in Mississippi
Seven people were killed in Tennessee and four in northern Mississippi by a line of storms that brought heavy flooding and tornados to the region over the weekend. More rain and storms loomed Sunday as emergency officials in Tennessee sought help from the state's Army National Guard, and urged people to stay off roads and interstate highways turned into raging rivers.
At a Sunday news conference, Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen said it will likely be days before floodwaters recede enough to thoroughly assess the damage to roads and bridges.
Tennessee officials have confirmed 7 deaths. At least three people are missing after getting swept away by flood waters, and one of them is presumed dead by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, which would bring the death toll to 8.
Bredesen said he expects to ask for federal disaster designation.
Earlier Sunday, TEMA asked for the state's National Guard to help with rescue operations.
Agency spokesman Jeremy Heidt confirmed that one person died around 4 a.m. Sunday in a tornado near Pocahontas, about 70 miles east of Memphis. The other deaths in Tennessee were all due to flooding, TEMA said

@psychick48 "You have a awesome "Vibe" thoughtful, but yet very cool... your intelligence shines (perhaps too intelligent lol) I used to live in Shelbyville so I know all about Bonnaroo , AWESOME endeavor) I remember when it was only "jam bands" and it was almost free for the most part and the local's hesitated to attend. The vibe is as close to Woodstock as you can get in this lifetime....only better water, food and toilets lol

Those who reside in Tennessee do not have the monopoly on hate or racism. We DO HAVE our share of PROBLEMS (racially etc) and I pray we continue to overcome them....but so do many other states and nations in the world. That's the human condition. As citizens on this fragile planet, we all have a grave responsibility to overcome hate and embrace love and peace. Think what you want about us in TN. I'm too busy to hate --- I have my brothers and sisters (of all races) that need my help now.

Wow. White guy helping a black girl to safety. I didn't think people in the US -even more so Tennessee- was capable of such love. You know. Since the US is such a racist , loveless, divided, demonic and cursed country right now.
