Nook Touch Manga Compared to Kindle 3

This video will be just to show a quick comparison of the Nook Simple Touch Reading Device compared to a Kindle 3 on how they display Manga. I plan on reuploading this video with an audio track of me describing what is going on. I will probably reshoot it hopefully with a better focus on the devices. I am shooting with an ipod touch the video will be in a pretty sub par resolution.

By default the Nook is unable to view/open comic book files or even Jpeg files. The kindle supports zip files and several image files out of the box.

The Nook is running on Android 2.1 which makes it very customizable.

In order to view comic book formats on my nook I had to "Root it". This is a simple process which requires a little bit of time and patience to get running.

Once rooted I installed an application called "Perfect Viewer." It has, so far, been my chosen comic book reading application, thought that could change to the app, "Droid Comic Viewer." Perfect Viewer is easy to use and with a tap to either the top left or right corner of the screen II can switch between fit to height or width. Reading in fit to width makes reading the smaller text easier to read, but requires a small scroll down to see the entire page.

Hopefully some hombrew support will come to a comic book viewer that allows for use of the physical page turn buttons on the Nook.
