The Donkey Rig is a fun way to catch bass on or near the surface actively feeding on shad or other minnow type forage when bass fishing, walleye fishing or other large gamefish like stripers, pike and more. this rig is illegal as of Feb 2012 in BASS Elite series tournaments... they just passed a rule(due to the Alabama rig controversy) that the pros can only use one lure/one line/one cast-type presentations.

It works better with two different swivels cause if you get two fish they wont break your line from pulling in two dif directions. If its two then one will slide up the line with one fish and the other fish will stay at the end. Trust me, ive caught two at a time on this rig.
p.s. I use the caffeine shads. I like them better than the zulus.

You don't use a 3-way swivel. Two big bass will break the lines. You use a swivel threaded onto the line through one open end. Then you tie on another swivel and your leader for the other caffeine shad or zulu or zoom fluke. Make one leader shorter than the other so they will stay apart better. It's basically like a carolina rig except instead of a big weight you're sliding on a swivel with another leader and jerkbait.
