@daveumpire bro shut th fuck up moron?!?! u souch a loser your an umpire guess wat i hate umpire lyk u u probably play mountain ball u dont play baseball so if i was u i would shut your mouth
If he did in fact step out of the batter's box it was AFTER he made contact with the ball, so that is not a violation. (Obviously you're allowed to leave the box once you hit the ball, in order to run to first.)
But obviously it was catcher's interference. Not sure how the umpire missed that.
From an umpire, first off it was catchers interference that call is correct. And you can barely see the batters box in the video but he does stay in the box and even of his foot would have stepped out of the box he already had catchers interference on it. Once the contact was made with the catchers glove the play is considered dead and runners advance if forced and batter takes 1st, and if only an out if THE BATTER MAKES CONTACT WITH THE BALL WHILE HAVING 1 OR 2 FEET OUTSIDE OF THE BATTERS BOX.
First of all to all you morons who don't know the rules and are posting comments. It is not catcher's interference it is called catcher's obstruction!!
The batter gets first base and all runners move up if forced by batter going to 1st.
So to all you morons at ball games that yell interference...the offense creates interference, the defense creates obstruction.
@daveumpire It's MLB Rule 6.08(c) you pedantic ass... INTERFERENCE.

@daveumpire Uh, afraid you're the moron here. This is the only time when a play by the defense is called interference. Read your rulebook again.
