They actually explained why she hated prisoners about 12 episodes after her introduction.

Apparently she'd been in love and romantically involved with a prisoner in the prison she used to work in up in Queensland. And the other prisoners found out about it and bashed that prisoner to death.

The Freak didn't take kindly to that. Killing the woman she loved. So she tars all prisoners with the same brush now. She sees them all as scum. Hates them with a passion.

Good bit of drama as always in Prisoner, but, pff! Joan is an evil a-hole, who deserves a beating, or better still, killing. She cares for no-one, but herself and hates everyone for no reason at all and must always win. Pathetic. What a scumbag. Down with the old trollop! LMAO Dazza xx :)
