On the 14th February 2009 the West Somerset Railway kicked off there new 2009 season.
The railway ran there red timetable meaning 2 locomotives would be in action on the day, the locomotives that were chosen to run where Small Prairie Tank 5553 & Mogul 9351.
We start of by seeing 5553 arriving at Bishops Lydeard after finishing her 20 mile journey from Minehead.
After her arrival 5553 then decouples from her train and heads to the water tower to re-fill her tanks.
Next 5553 is seen from Churchlands Bridge storming the bank towards Crowcombe Heathfield with a train to minehead.
From the bridge we get some views of the Quantock hills which still in some places have some snow on them after the February storms.
9351 then appears out of the cutting at Leigh Wood Cattle Creep and heads towards the level crossing with a train to Crowcombe.9351 is then seen again at Crowcombe Heathfield storming the last 4 miles of crowcombe bank with a train to Minehead.
5553 is then seen again with the last train of the day to Bishops Lydeard at Leigh Bridge storming the Leigh Loops with a train to crowcombe Heathfield.
Lets hope the West Somerset Railway have a very successful year!

Very nice video there Jake. I liked the shots of 5553 coming into BL, running around, the profile of her and then of her lineside on both shots. The ones of 9351 weren't bad either, a very good video. 5*s!
