This is a short video on SOME of the things you can do to protect your equipment from a electro magnetic pulse or EMP for short. This would also cover strong solar storm that would be the equivalent of a world wide EMP that would last for hours or even days. In the case of a prolonged solar event you would need to be sure the storm was over before hooking up your equipment.

  • I believe it only takes just over 8 minutes for radiation from the sun to hit earth. Due to the fact that the distance between the sun and the Earth changes about 3% depending on where in the orbit Earth is. This would equate to about a + or - 15 second difference. Something tells me that wouldn't be enough lead time to "EMP proof" anything.

  • @porsche558 the light/radiation does not cause the emp. The CME does that takes up to 2 days

  • LMAO Isn't the car/truck the metal case around the battery..?!?!?!

  • @smonahan67 LMAO the car is not a complete enclosure.. there are many holes just like your brain

  • 300 miles over the US wouldnt do anything, fyi, EMP blasts from nukes end at around 120 KM.. good vid tho

  • @AridSea And how do you know this? The Dept of energy says otherwise

  • you was in doomsday preppers :)

  • I thought the issues with solar flares is ground currents so it looks like your battery would be safer in the car with rubber tires than in the metal barrel on the ground...

  • I was reading that a solar EMP does cause an E1 or E2 event that these are only from nuclear bomb explosions here on Earth...

  • @MIKON8ERISBACK Combined with the two circuit breaker panels, one if a sub panel for my finished basement.

  • Correction: You actually have a normal circuit breaker panel with a manual service disconnect switch that's fused. All I have is a 100 amp main breaker.

  • What a fat retard, notice how out of breath he gets at 6:00 just from talking??? Makes me sick, but not as sick as those scabs urghhh!!! Hey redneck quit pickin' yer scabs you sick fat fuck

  • @mdredmond71 Would a car stand a better chance in an aluminum shed?

My impression is that semiconductors and anything with a coil of wires are at risk.

How much sheilding is enough to protect computers?

    How about solar panels?

  • Question about putting your> electronics into the metal desk or metal cabinet. If the electronics make a -conductive-contact- with the metal desk, would not the desk just become a large -Antenna- for the EMP to enter the Electronics. (It wouldn't if desk is grounded)

I saw how the box for your emergency radio insulated the radio from the aluminum foil. Repeats be good = dangerous times now.>

The politicians & cronies be looting America as if they will NEVER be held accountable. What's up?

  • If you have a car without electronic ignition then you should be alright. Older model vehicles do not have electronic ignitions...
