Back in 1989 I would drive 150 miles to the "Vinyl Solution" record store in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my good friend Mario. This is where I bought the Field Mice CD "Coastal". I still have it!

Even though I could have bought the CD closer to home the store was amazing and it was indeed fun times and fun drive the few times we went.

Alas... I have not seen Mario since he got married many years ago.

Only problem is if it were not for REM this band would not have existed. You can here how heavily this song is influenced by REM and another thing butthole is if you asked the Field Mice who is one of their major influences they will say REM. Gold Mine Magazine 1996.

I've always said if The Field Mice had a twin in America... It would be The Ocean Blue. Both are great..great..bands.. Both bands are just straight up Awesome!! Late 80s .early 90s.. my favorite music.
