Great opening clip with that gorgeous tinseled tree in the background. Loved the Dick Powell segement. What a pleasure to hear the words"Merry Christmas" even though there were at least 3 generic happy holidays which don't fit the occasion. Actually happy holiday is happy holy day as Christmas is Christ Mass. The British to shorten everything! And I'm sure there will be those when it dawn's on them will try to rid us of both phrases even though Christmas generates billions into the economy .

I'm a million years late for discovering your post but this is just spectacular.
Thanks for sharing this.
This is just dreadfull. Not even a sighting of Timi, and even if there was, the fil is like looking through a fog so we wouldn;t have seen her anyway.
There is no point of this even being on here

Hi Mike,
I'm sorry. You're absolutely right. I have no excuse to post such lousy stuff on YouTube. I promise it won't ever happen again!
Really.

Perhaps soon I will be posting a tribute page to the Central, which was New Jersey's greatest theater.

That's character actor Jack Collins reading from Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" in the opening sequence...the clip from Dick Powell & Company is from the end of a December 1960 episode of "DICK POWELL'S ZANE GREY THEATER"- Aaron Spelling had become Dick's producer on the series at the time {he also wrote the monologues Powell delivered at the beginning and end of every episode}- Richard Newton later worked with Aaron on "BURKE'S LAW" and co-created "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS SHOW" with him in 1965...

Thanks for all of the info. I'm pretty sure the Collins clip is from circa 1956 or so.
