Remember Alabama

With a new year upon us, many state legislatures across the country will be convening. Some of these legislatures may attempt to follow in the steps of Alabama by passing harsh, anti-immigrant legislation. The Southern Poverty Law Center wants to take this opportunity to remind state lawmakers and others that before they support anti-immigrant legislation to remember Alabama.

If you are against Alabama's anti-ILLEGAL immigration law then you are also against FEDERAL immigration laws that are being selectively enforced. You are also biased about who you are letting in freely, why not let everyone from Iran enter at the high FREE percentage as people from south of our border? Why does this one group of people deserve better treatment over the rest of the human beings?

@bennyamon89 Where are these economic loses? Our unemployed has dropped considerably and we have recent announcements of 2 new plants opening here which brings even more jobs to legal residents. This isn't a racial thing just because you want it to be and LEGAL immigrants are wanted and needed here. You are trying to give this group of people that invaded another country benefits over people willing to assimilate into our melting pot.

This has nothing to do with one group of people deserving better treatment than any other human being. IT IS ABOUT TREATING EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS AS HUMAN BEINGS, rather than dehumanizing them and de facto legalizing racial profiling. The other point is that these immigration bills are STUPID for states to engage in on simple economic terms. Alabama has seen huge economic losses as a result of the HB56.

@stardelamor - god also said to follow mans laws, bring religion into this all you want but it won't change the legality of these criminals. If you are from Alabama but don't live here then you really shouldn't try to comment on the situation since you have no idea what you are talking about. The illegal immigrant problem has gotten worse over the past 20 years here and has effected Alabama in a negative way. Would you like to answer a question that no pro-illegal has been able to?

I am from Alabama but wouldnt live there . They are racists. They dont even have a big immigrant problem. But as they saw AZ get a lot of spotlight , they want to be just like them. Its sad I dont want to live around hateful people and that is what they have started . #2 on the Hate list. All this anti crap does it create hate!
