This musical tribute (parts1,2, and 3) hopefully conveys how my mother used music to inspire and empower others. The background music helps to give us insight into her dream and her passion for utilizing music as an interpretive tool to touch the souls of listeners and performers. She had a wonderful gift for musical interpretation and conveyed much feeling-ful-ness in each musical work.

The beginning of the slide show portrays the ancestral influence and emphasis on musical performance for her and her siblings. The slides are so well timed to the soundtrack, that it almost seems as if the sound track was composed for the slides. The next chapter walks the viewer through her life and achievements until marriage. The sounds of hand bells accentuate her love of the instruments and their incorporation into many of her musical services.

The following chapter concentrates of the majesty and power of skillfully played pipe organ. The scenes transitioning by give a feel for the many awesome, acoustically-live sanctuaries and organ halls that my mother brought me to while she was a Dean of the NE chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Part 2 (in the next video segment) of this musical tribute conveys her enthusiastic spirit, creative drive, and dedication to choral directing. The scenes and energy of the soundtrack remind me of our many choir performances and our participation in grand summer performances at the Berkshire Choral Institute in Massachusetts.

The last chapter (part 3) of this tribute shows what a loving mother she has been. It is an opportunity for each of us to reflect on giving thanks to those who cared for and taught us in our lives. We thank you, Mom, for your loving guidance and support.
