there should be no reason or excuse for anyone to be on anyones property without permission and being notified.

Who cares about the dogs. the book is not about how to take care of a dog. Their is truth and wisdom behind children needing unconditional love and structure. Also those kids should have just listen to the adult. You dont discus things with a child. Children Dont always understand what parents are saying. Alls they know is that they were told not to do something. The book may have been poorly written but the point is true.

first thing i wanna say is u are soooo cute... 2nd.. your wrong..lol .. the mom and dad of the kids should never have given permission for the kids to walk on the owners property after he didnt want them to. the owner was being a jerk yes.. but that doesnt mean the kids can cut through his property.. and the dogs being given a snack has nothing to do with anything.. the bible says if someone doesnt welcome you wipe your feet off and leave.. would u want people cutting through your lawn all day?

When a dog gets a treat they think they are doing something well. They will then continue to repeat the action to get a treat. DUH! What a stupid author!

The owner said "Whoa, it's not my problem what time you have to be home"... ?!?!?!? How is that a Christian attitude at all? This owner is completely seflish, as obviosuly doesn't care about these kids' circumstances at all...

I agree that the parents are at fault, and the "putting them in that situation" refers to telling the kids to do something illegal and to confront & contradict an adult on their own (an adult who is telling them to do the right thing, not a van owner)
The lack of structure refers to telling his kids to disobey the land owner and the law
...I don't see how the owner did anything wrong. It's not his job to parent the kids or to make sure their parents are doing it either

I dunno if I fully understand the physical lay-out of the story (I don't really care to of course haha)
But the guy has a right to his own property, and if he wants people out, he should have his requests met. Let's say the guy doesn't like people... he has the right to be left alone.
I love Christian parenting books, especially about teens... those are hilarious and are seemingly written by 60 year old librarians who have no understanding of people.
