Storm at Pipers Lagoon, Nanaimo, B.C.

This was quite a storm! High winds delayed ferries, toppled trees onto houses and roadways, and downed power lines all along the Vancouver Island coast.

These clips were difficult to shoot, sometimes treacherous. I was knocked down a few times by severe wind gusts on outcrops, the rain swept viciously over the cliffs, and down on the beach the windswept sand stung without mercy. Still, it was a day of breathtaking sights, full of dynamic beauty.

Them there are surfing waves! We had some good wave action here on our island as well, but because we are so sheltered by the outer Gulf Islands they were quite as big as your's. Still was pretty windy though.
