This video shows demonstrators from the research project "permaedia" at the Human-Computer Interaction Group of the University of Konstanz.
It features the cross-platform zoomable user interface paradigm ZOIL. ZOIL (=Zoomable Object-Oriented Information Landscape) defines a new way of interacting with personal information using new input & output devices such as Wiimote, laserpointers, cinema displays or a display wall with two 67" full-HD cube displays.
Thereby ZOIL attempts to replace traditional WIMP-UIs, hierarchical menus and file systems with a zoomable direct manipulation visual workplace.
The ZOIL user interface framework used to implement these demonstrators is based on Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and C#.
