Judo is supposed to be an art of war, not an art of, Im gunna win by tossing you once on your back. i feel Competative judo is too single minded now and is focusing too much on the stand up and not so much on the aspect of taking your opponent to the ground with a through, and following through with a form of submission.

@aoz823 true, i agree, My old Sensei was more focused on the actual combat aspect of Judo and not just "toss them on their back IPON!" we had to actually win by either submission, Or by Pinning the opponent in at least 5 different holds.

@3asyLiving never told old! Just ease into it, and then work hard! Its not only for the competitions, its also a healthy life style! im a nutrition coach and id highly recomend Judo Just for THAT alone!

@aoz823 yea i also hate how the rules pretty much took out all groundwork and submissions as well as competitors only worrying about completing the throw and not having to worry about ending up in a good position
