I was also privileged to see her do Tosca live at the Met , late 60's. I agree, Her "vissi d'arte" on her stomach was something to behold.

Saw her in this at the MET... along with Isolde, Elektra, etc... WOW, Birgit knocked everyone out!

I really like her Elektra's interpretation. BUT......! her debut in Frau is too late! it should be ealier. I cannot listen.
