Because of the horrors earlier in the movie, it felt so good and soothing to see her again in this clip at the end. Just wanna hold her and kiss her, make it all right....

@Davian2075 Thank you so much. I'm an Italian living in Thailand and love asian languages. Btw, as you probably know, our 'ciao' (which can be used as 'hello' or 'bye') has exactly the same sound of the vietnamese 'chao'....:)

@guiguox he said : "Chao co." means "Hello miss." In the end, she said : "Chao ong." means "Hello sir." but practically means "Goodbye."

@DickieAnginson I love this movie but it made me sad and I did cry at certain moments of the movie. This movie moved me in ways I never thought was possible.Penn and Fox did an awesome job.I did not know this was the same girl in both scenes.Thank you for sharing.
@mckennev The same actress who portrayed the Vietnamese girl his platoon kidnapped (and Michael J. Fox's character tried to save) plays the young student in this final scene of the film. Prosthetic makeup was used to make her appear more "American" and her voice was dubbed by actress Amy Irving.
Interesting tidbit ... :)
