I connected my Yamaha 225HP HPDI up to the hose and started it after the winter lay up. You can see the fogging oil burn off which is sprayed into each cylinder to prevent rust forming over the winter. Now we're ready to get out on the water.

  • No water is getting to your impeller :/ yamaha sells special ear muffs for vmax low water pick up like what you have

  • @tunerguy95 That's not strictly true yes they do sell special muffs for this engine but it isn't 100% necessary to use them and that came from 2 different yamaha techs. It is important that you don't rev the engine over 1500 rpms and should only be run at idle.

  • nice rig ;)

  • @BanhB6 Thanks it's a shame i blew cylinder #2 a month ago. However I have another HPDI with a phase 3 kit on coming from HydroTec ;-)

  • @matthiaspower I know but it wasn't coming out of the pisser but according to a Yamaha teacher, it should be fine as long as you don't rev it and you have at least 50-60 lbs of water pressure( I think that's the psi he said), but i guess as long as the impeller get lubricated. I just got back from yamaha university in atlanta :)

  • @tunerguy95 look before you say something! you see wather everywhere

  • Wow you guys didnt CLEARLY SEE WATER coming from the pee hole or the exhaust its call the super flush system you can mount it to those types of yamahas and you can see the hose to the right.... Thank you oh bye the wat im only twelve

  • Well sorry to say bud, but being a marine mechanic myself, what you are doing there is flushing Ur outboard motor. And when you do that you are not suppose to start your engine cause you are actually running water that wrong way in the motor. Don't forget your waterpump pumps up, not down.. And we test motors on dynos every day and run them wide open on muffs, as long as the motor pumps water it will not damage the waterpump. So next time get some muffs for it... just a hint...

  • u should probably change the impeller now....:\

  • ya know what? i just spent the last 20 minutes on YT looking at speedboats from miami and large ocean going yachts in dubai and you know what? THIS is what i can back to! gimme a flat bass boat with a good fishing buddy and then dont bother me

  • damn, somebodys going to go get some bass fishin done... and get there quick he will!

  • @johnhenryoutdoors how many hours did you have on her when that happened?

  • shitt.. :) fuckin sounds sweettt!
