Armenian Mass Church of the Nativity Bethlehem

Video of a short part of an Armenian Mass recorded during a visit to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in early April 2008. Worship services go on as curious tourists wander by, heedless of what the priests chants mean, unmindful of the ceremony going on before them. The paintings lining the walls of the church record the biblical figures that made the religion celebrated in this ages-old structure fought over by at least three sects of Christianity, each claiming the sole right to their founder's birthplace.

Thank you for posting this video. A point of clarification: the Armenians have never claimed "sole" right to this or any other place. Every place in the Holy Land belongs to God -- the Armenians, the Greeks, the Latins, and others each worship in their particular language and manner. There is too much negative press, and not enough to say how wonderful it is that Christianity thrives thanks to the collective efforts of these churches.

Armenians just was deceived by their church and government and was raised with a lot of hatred in their hearts against Azerbaijanians. Inflamed by imaginary "ideology" and led by armenian church, armenian chauvinists became certain in their infallibility and started uncovered aggression against Azerbaijan.
