@GYPSYKNOWINGTHETRUTH You are so wrong. The scriptures says that tongues will end, but in the same sentence it also says knowledge will cease - so do you think knowledge has ceased? Of course not - the sentence is qualified in the next verse, which says it all ends when the perfect comes... so what is the perfect? It is when Jesus returns and creates a new heaven and earth. That's why we won;t need tongues because we will have face to face access to Jesus! The scripture is really clear on this

Piper isn't a cessationist, but a continuationist. Of course, he teaches that the gifts should be used according to the Scriptures.
Tongues haven't ceased, because the perfect hasn't yet come. They won't cease until Christ returns. I also speak in tongues, but I use the gift according to the 1 Corinthians 14.
It is true that not everyone speaks in tongues, and you CAN be filled with the Holy Spirit even if you don't speak in tongues. God bless.
