Known alternately as Blood Demon, The Snakepit and the Pendulum, and The Torture Room, this low budget, somewhat-campy and oddly entertaining euroshock movie was considered by some a horror classic. Loosely based on Poe's 'The Pit and the Pendulum', it combined gothic visuals and atmosphere with slick casting where the main characters (Christopher Lee and Karin Dor) had to survive traps to overcome their captors. Here, I've put together some of the movie's highlights, confined to youtube's 10-minute time limit. If you haven't seen this little-known B-movie gem, you won't be able to get the full gist of the plot just from these sporadic clips but you can get somewhat of an idea of its characters and plot. Enjoy.

  • very eerie film...i enjoyed the darkness...would be a very good remake, if done right.

  • @wickedplantz Hmm didn't think about a remake, yes it would be cool- just get a good director on it

  • I have this movie on VHS and DVD somewhere. Always liked it as a kid. If anyone out there plays world of warcraft and has seen this movie, doesn't it seem like blizzard ripped off this movie's travels form the town to the castle. Follow Arathi Highlands all the way to Scarlet Monastery and tell me that it isn't this movie :P

  • Yep it's very adaptable to a video game, from the trip through the forest to escaping the traps

  • that black haired woman karin dor is beautiful

  • Yep they don't make 'em like that anymore
