He, It's the same way how we peel the fruit in Morocco. (with and without knife)
How we take the fruit of the plant: We use long bamboo, take out al it's leafs, on the end we split it for about 6-10cm, then we put a small stone in it and voila, it has a open mouth now and is ready for use. You can then take the fruits safely from it's plant. Plus, We use vig leafs to take out those things on the fruit which hurts, i forgot the word for it....

John, Great video! I am originally from Peru but now live in Florida. We call them "tuna" and the little ones (still are sweet) we call them San Pedros. We used to have a "fence" of cacti protecting our land. We used alfalfa bundles to dust off the little prickly sticks. I want to grow these at my house in FL, do you sell pallets? or know someone that will. Thanks!

There are some varieties that are sour, I don't bother eating them. The ones we show on the vieo are actually among the sweetest fruits I have ever eaten. Think of a cross between a sweet watermelon and the sweetest apricot you've ever tasted. All of the diferent varieties have a differnt taste. Some are reminescent of papaya or mango or persimmon. Very tasty fruit indeed.
