@ftucyk Atleast if there's a problem in the Saturn V you can abort and detach from the rocket, but in the space shuttle you have to ride it out until you separate from the boosters, and Challenger unfortunately showed us what can happen because of that

A tad misleading. The shuttle successfully flew many times without a failure. Its hard to say how many launches Saturn V would have made without a failure. Since it was disposable, every flight was a maiden voyage and there was no opportunity to get all the bugs worked out of the vehicle. That being said, I think most people agree that the vehicle should be on top of the rocket and not on its side.
