Wow this is great, I wish I would have known about the Freud router because I bought a Porter Cable and it sure would be nice to raise it from the top like that.

Very nice build. Thank you for showing us the construction.

Very well done. Thanks for posting.

To increase the stability of this table, build a plywood box at the bottom of the bench and then fill it with something heavy like sand, dirt, or scrap metal. This makes a huge difference.

hello, is there a certain reason for the insert plate attached to the router ?
Can't you just drill a hole in the 3/4 inch tabletop and screw the router to it ?
thank you

wow, really nice work. i guess you probably get no vibration from the router plate once the fence is secured in place over it?

@tomx63 Thanks. The plate is a friction fit, so it is pretty tight. That combined with the weight of the router and the downward pressure from the workpiece means no movement whatsoever with or without the fence.

Functionally, I don't need the plate. I do need something thinner than 3/4" to mount the router to, or else the collet won't protrude through enough for me to get a wrench on it. It would also limit the range of some bits. It is nice to be able to pull the router out of the table also.
