WHAT YOU WILL NEED
------------------
-Fenricks Doorjam. Get this from the Caldera Mages guild.
-Wild Open Spell -OR- A spell that will open doors up to 100. Get Wild Open from J'Rasha the Healer in his store located in the Lower Foreign Quarter Canalworks.
-At least 2000 gold.
-Mark and Recall potions.
-Telekenisis.
RECALL AND MARK
---------------
First, find a good hideout without any guards. I suggest your strongholds from the Great House quest lines. Now, drink your mark potion. I suggest you dump all items except the neccesary. Now, go to Vivec, Redoran. Go to the Plaza, and go to Dralor Manor.

My Morrowind crashed after I unlocked the second Hlaalu vault door. One guard will leave the room, lock it when he does. Now, this other guard won't leave. Don't worry, using Telekenisis, get behind the wall where he cannot see you. Point towards the chest or item you want, cast the spell, and open it! This is very good to know, as I thought my first time through I wouldn't be able to do it without murder...

-BUT-

The Telvanni Vaults require you kill two storm Attronaches, and two ordinators before you can take any loot in there, you have to get your hands dirty here, or else it won't be easy for you.

WHAT I FORGOT TO MENTION

Telekenisis will allow you to pick up items, even after your carrying too-much to move. Once you swiped an entire room, drink your recall potion and there you go.

Even though the doors look like people can see through them, the way the game is scripted, they cannot see you through the door because to the AI, it's basically a wooden door that covers everything, to you, it is a bar-door. Don't worry.

Getting caught hurts faction. You can be expelled if you're caught stealing from your own faction vaults.

In the first half, I mistake Redoran for mages, it really goes...

Hlaalu-Thieves
Telvanni-Mages

Some vaults do carry items good for the other type of character. So go through all of em.

There are alot of gems. But most items cannot be bought by regular merchants in Morrowind. Go to Mournehold in the Tribunal expansion, those guys pay alot for them, or the drunken mud crab. Google this else where, I won't help you with it.

That should be it.

You have to kill Baren Alen (one of the clerks, but you'll most possibly need him for hlaalu quests) and his body will have the key
(you won't see it while pickpocking, or at least I didn't). This will get you quite some ordinator attention.
The second key is on the ordinator between the doors (you'll have to kill him, so you'll get expelled from the temple, unless, I suppose, you frenzy him). Big thanks to Ursanclaw for the tip.

One of the guards that patrols will go into the vault you enter if it is unlocked. Lock it so he does his normal path.

Here's how I did it.

1) Get amulet of shadows, and possibly another item that increases your camofulage

2)Get item or spell that can open up 100 locked door, also get probes

3)Steal everything

(Does not work for telvanni towers, you are fucked if you try this there unprepeared!)

Invis/Cham is a great way to go. Telvanni Tower in general is no fight=no loot unless you're a pretty good stealth character.

Random patrol actually can, sometimes you can get lucky and not even have it happen. But in two of my attempts, he did.
