Attack of the Mods

Wowzerz. I'm on a roll this week, aren't I? Naturally when I log in I join a random person's Clan Chat. Mod MMG came to mind (I read the news thread for the 6th time, so yeah.) I wondered, after so many failed attempts to get in, what all the commotion was about. When I finally got in, MMG himself was there LOLing up a storm and answered a few questions.

He confirms Username changing, he mentioned it was his birthday today (vacation until Friday), he says he is only one of few people who can log into their Mod accounts from home, he STILL won't tell us what the hidden trapdoor (near the G.E) is for, the remedy for the 26k trick is being worked on by JaGEx staff, Mobilizing Armies took 2 months to test (but as we all know it's far from perfect). He also says it was REALLY him on tehnoobshow's SHORTS video and notes Cam is a good guy.

yeh but if we are giving that opertunity all together then people will steal your name if u had a good 1 and wouldnt the friends list go all weirdish if ur friends all change names?

Yes, JaGEx has taken that into consideration. Technical problems they need to overcome include the Friends and Ignore Lists, which presumably would need to update automatically, and allow players to see the previous usernames of people on their lists (so that they know who they are talking to).

It is possible that Jagex may also make the usernames of banned accounts available for others to use. Fear not. They know what they're doing... most of the time. >_>

We will have the ability to exchange our current account usernames. This is a huge highlight for those who have a different profession in-game whereas their username reflects something else.

Take my main account, for example: Hydratamer1. What the deuce was I thinking that day?!? When the time comes, I'll give it something without numbers... and possibly a whole new meaning. Do some thinking. :)
