I fished for Chinook (King) Salmon with Ron Wakita and Mike Herzberg on the Kitimat River on June 16, 2010. The weather and water conditions were near perfect. Mike is a professional fishing guide and it was a GREAT honour to fish with him. He really, really knows his stuff. He knows every knook and cranny of this river. We started early and finished early around noon and went 2 for 4 which means we hooked four Chinook and landed two. This one was the biggest weighing 32-pounds. We were hotshotting with Luhr Jensen Kwik Fish K13 plug http://www.rapala.ca G.Loomis Hot Shot rods http://www.gloomis.com and Ambassadeur 6500C5 http://www.purefishing.com and Blue 25lb Trilene Big Game line http://www.purefishing.com, 25 lb test Maxima Chameleon line http://www.redlsports.com and 4/0 Gamakatsu Siwash hook http://www.rapala.ca The right tools for the job.
