  • Hey guy do you know if i can use this pedal as an expression pedal in the volume mode? Thanks

  • @Fhortress There is way to do that, I believe — but I'm not sure how. Try Googling it.

  • my uncle gave me one and the wah does not work

  • @saxaphonestudios Look at the front of the way — see those two little holes? Behind those are 2 mini pots. Get a tiny screwdriver and trying tweak them a bit. I've heard of several people "fixing" them that way.

If it's not that, if might be something as simple as a loose/bad switch or something. Or it could be broke... LOL!

Either way, worth investigating a bit.

  • Learn how to USE a wah before you demo it... what a waste of time!

  • @rleary1 The details are well documented on the DIYguitarist site, but in a nutshell one or two of the IC's went bad. This malfunction caused the effect to get stuck in one place, jump around wildly, or not work at all. Paul replaced both chips with NOS chips found on ebay, installed chip sockets, and proceeded to replace all the electrolytic capacitors to help ensure another 20 years of proper operation. I'd recommended hunting down a spare chip set just in case.

  • @jonnda I had to get creative to write the URL & thanks. I've always had a crybaby & just bought one of these on ebay last night. What was the problem with yours out of curiousity? (incase mine every has problems)

  • @rleary1 First I must congratulate you on the very creative way to write a link, and I thank you for the effort. However, you are far too late. When I said "I'm trying have it resurrected", I meant that I had contacted Paul (the guy who wrote the object of your link) about checking it out to see if he could fix it for me. In fact the "DOD FX-17 -- Troubleshooting & Repair" section of the site now exists because I sent him my malfunctioning FX-17 and he fixed it for me.
