  • Bob is such a genuine guy, bless him!!

  • This might get me in trouble, but I gotta speak out and say that them saying you don't love animals if you eat meat is plain out wrong. I would never hurt a dog or a cat that I might have and while I love steak and the such, I also love animals and never want to see them mistreated. Just had to say it.

  • .... including, for ex, sugar (processing might have involved using bone char). I think I'm somewhere in between, probably more of a practical vegan. If it contains something I recognize, like gelatin, whey, cochineal, etc. I won't eat it. But I'm not sure if I'd ever find it worth the time to memorize or carry around the list of thousands of animal-derived ingredients. If everyone were a practical vegan, these ingredients would no longer be used, because alternative sources would be found.

  • He sounds like what Vegan Outreach describes as a practical vegan as opposed to a symbolic vegan (I think I would pick a better name for the latter...?). A practical vegan is one who doesn't eat foods that she knows contain animal products, but doesn't worry about the list of thousands of chemicals that you'd never know had come from an animal. She is not concerned with purity, but with sending a message to corporations. The symbolic vegan is more concerned with avoiding every little thing....
