  • i bet more than half the people in the audience don't even know the song

  • well, it is hard to say that. I would bet on less than the half wouldn't know. i can say that maybe i know about a third of them who know at least radiohead, and i also met some new people there that where really fans

  • may be this guy is not so brilliant as Vitor Araújo, but he's thousands time better than that dullest brad mehldau

  • You can play really well, Just seems a waste of a great song, Far to random. But on the plus side at least you play with your own heart and not anyone elses...

  • It's just nasty. Disjointed, almost random in parts. The leitmotifs and transitions are not handled at all well, almost as if he's just randomly stabbing at the keys. The feeling of the coda is rushed, and it is here particularly that Gutierrez stutters and falters, It is not at all apparent that this is just his unique "voice" or expression "shining through", because much of it comes across as muddled. Of course, not that I could do better. Everyone is a critic.

  • excelente! Saludos y felicidades =)

  • @groenengoud exactly, the missing E is especially irritating

  • i'm going to say that this is average as.

the bridge not being in 7/8 slash 4/4 cycles simply isn't good enough considering the audience/piano/outfit. And not having the E in the bass for the Bbflat 5 at the end of a verse phrase.. makes all the difference.

Was clearly well practiced though, but almost too well.

Made up for it a bit with the slow/outro part though.

  • @fredfour , it appears that way. One dude at the beginning definitely knows it in the crowd doing some head banging if you watch early.

  • Not bad for a kid - his lack of control shows when he "rocks out" (the tempo rushes, the pocket is clumsy) but that's probably just nerves due to all the hot girls he's impressing.

I hope this young man learns to 'let go' a bit more and allows himself to not just play the song, but play WITH the song -there is so much rich melodic, harmonic and rhythmic gold to mine in this piece...
