I saw a documentary on the History channel about Irish Americans. It mentioned that when the Civil War ended, soldiers of the Confederacy told those of the Union something like this, "You only won because you had more Irish than we did."
Every Irishman who fought on behalf of the Confederacy should have been ashamed of themselves; they denounce the barbarity of the English and men like Cromwell but fought to defend a confederacy which held millions of people in bondage.
@ajm267 Europe was referred to as Christendom before the name Europe came about. There is no "original branch" they both existed at the same time but split. Orthodox obviously spreading East and Christianity spreading West into Europe, hence the name "Christendom."
@travhank1 But it was the French that got rid of us in America, infact they did us a favour as we then went to India and got filthy rich, more so than we ever could through America.
@fuckingmaracas Well we got rid of the worst problem in the revolutionary war, when we sent the English packing, any race or nationality has since been an improvement over them.
@lordcornwallis2 I've read the history of the "English" you talk about, and it seems to me they tried to conquer the world with many of the same tactics Hitler used in WW2. In fact they had many defeats when they had no conscripts or allies to speak of. If England was such a great nation why the hell can't they get out of Ireland & Scotland, and a few other places they are not welcome?
@RPenta but the war was not started to free the people in bondadge, was started over states rights
