A review of the Wouxun KG-UVD1P dual band two way radio.

I am NØUWY. I am tech. I should study and get a general ticket but I been to lazy. But I am going to try and do that soon. There is a local club that does testing about two times a month.

Just wondering how a long term use is holding up! Is the KG-UVD1P still working good?? I'm here in San Antonio Texas and taking my Tech Test on Nov. 19... I'm searching for my first radio. On the eHam website some reviews say it just stops working after a while.... any issues with it so far?

@matthew2000tx I have not had any problems. But the truth is I have not attempted to even make one contact with the radio. I do monitor the repeaters. I also use the FM broadcast function to listen to PBS when I am in the kitchen. Everything seems to work without a problem.

Yes! Welcome to ham! Get that General license! You can do it. I got my General last October and no regrets. This is a good radio also. Had one a few months now. 73 de KJ4UPD

I got my license the 25th of May and I ordered one from Solid Radio in Hong Kong I got the Radio, the PTT Earpiece, the USB cable/software and a extra battery for 119 plus 11.90 shipping.. also ordered the mobile antenna, the better Rubber Ducky, speaker mic,car charger and the Dual home Battery charger...you know the entire works and paid like 210 with shipping not a bad price considering the other radios I priced.Thanks for the video lots of hams say this is a good talking/Receiving radio 73s

@KC9UHA Great OM. Welcome to ham radio. You got everything. All that extra stuff you got I need to get when I can afford it. Maybe I can get it next month. Yes, the radio gets great reviews from hams. Part of it is the great price. You can not beat the price and you got an excellent deal.

I haven't got to look at the new general class questions yet, but I would probably go ahead and try to knock Extra out as well. I am looking to do get my extra sometime soon.
